I was born in Germany, where I live. But my heart belongs to Scotland, where I hope to live one day.
The photo on the left was taken on Harris in Scotland. It’s not a perfect photo – but I love it because I was so happy there. The wind in my hair … rain and sun on my skin … yellow sand and seashells under my feet … the sea on one side, grass and little cute sheep on the other. And behind me an old ruin to explore …
I’m a mom to two teenagers and a servant to a cat, who loves to join me while painting and creating and – unfortunately – also chew up my sketches! She takes her role as sketch analyst and selfcare manager super seriously!
I hoard deeply love art supplies & notebooks!
When I’m not at my art table, my heart craves being outside in nature, spending time hiking, cycling, travelling, and exploring. I’m always excited about learning and trying new things, but also enjoy just sitting under a tree and reading a book. Oh, and I’m addicted to black tea.
As long as I can remember I have been creating. Yes, I wrote creatING, not creatIVE. That’s not because I believe I’m not creative.
I believe every single human being is creative.
We are born with an innate creativity and a desire to create. We might express it in different ways – or sometimes forget it altogether – but we all have it. For me that meant trying everything under the sun, that had to do with arts and crafts. As a child and teenager, I spent countless hours drawing and painting. But over the years of my life I’ve dabbled in acrylics, oils, graphite, charcoal, woodworking, pottery, making rugs, crocheting doilies, knitting socks, sewing, photography, making candles, cake decorating … and at some point ended up making and selling handmade buttons out of polymer clay. (Yep. If you don’t believe me, I have proof!) I don’t think there are many crafts or art techniques, that I haven’t tried yet. But …
My favourite way to create is mixed media art.
When I discovered mixed media art it felt like coming home. Finally, I didn’t have to decide anymore – graphite, pastel, or acrylics? Everything I love is combined in mixed media art! Stamps, paper, or fabric? Yes, please. There are no rules. And if there are, they can be broken. Materials can be put together in new unexpected ways. Techniques can be combined. I love the abundance of possibilities this brings, exploring new ways – the freedom. Such bliss!
But, creating to me was never just a hobby. It is – and always has been – an integral part of my life.
To me being creative – creating something – is SELFCARE.
Necessary selfcare I might add. Much needed time for myself. Even if it sounds cheezy, it makes me a better person (ask my kids!). And it’s my deep desire to inspire you with my work to take time for yourself, take care of yourself and CREATE!

I love travelling and experiencing different countries. So far I’ve lived in Germany, where I was born, USA, Australia, and England. Loved and still cherish each stay.
If overthinking was a sport, I would be a world champion. Hands down! (I wish I was kidding.)
I don’t own a TV. Never have. I don’t miss it. But I do have a collection of all Friends seasons on DVD. ;-)
If I had to choose between a diamond ring and craft or art supplies – I would not even have to think. (I mean, it really isn’t hard to make a choice, right? I would have to take the ring off while making art anyway … so … where’s the point!)
I have two university degrees and my career plan until I had kids actually was to be a famous neuropsychologist. Today I am glad my kids changed my mind.

jetzt habe ich mich auf Deinen Seiten so “versurft”, dass ich fast schon nicht mehr wußte, wie ich Dich gefunden habe. Tolle Seite, inspiriert und motiviert mich. Bin noch auf der Suche meine Träume zu verwirklichen. Das explodierte Haus findet man bei uns auch. Da musste ich herzlich lachen. Manchmal habe ich Angst ob das DG nicht irgendwann einstürzt, da mein Lieblingsmaterial Papier, in entsprechender Maße doch recht schwer wiegt. I love what you say here “My art is not just art. It is proof, that anything is possible.” That really resonates with me, especially this year as it has been a time of enlightenment/spirituality for me.
Though I don’t do yoga (I’m not that bendy at 57 years young) I started meditating a few times a week. It has transformed my life and it sounds like it’s done the same to you?

So, jetzt bin ich schon den zweiten Tag in Folge auf Deiner Seite unterwegs, wie ich hierher gefunden habe , kann ich nicht mehr sagen, aber ich finde es super. In vielen Deiner Aussagen und Dinge finde ich mich selbst wieder….auch ich bin ein Krea-holik, Stoffe und Wolle vor allem und oh ja, ich liebe Knöpfe sortieren…und Perlen.
